Solomon Choir and Orchestra

It all started during an uninspiring performance of a Bach oratorio that I was singing in.  I was bored, the audience was bored, and suddenly I thought, “We can do better than this.”  So I drew together a choir, orchestra and soloists from my friends and colleagues, mostly in their 20s, and named it after my favourite Handel oratorio: the Solomon Choir and Orchestra.

Jonathan Sells

Jonathan Sells took first class honours with distinction in the BA degree (Music) at Christ’s College, Cambridge, following this with an MPhil in Musicology at Trinity College, Cambridge. He founded the Solomon Choir and Orchestra in 2008 and has conducted Handel’s Messiah with them in Cambridge and London to critical acclaim.
